Project Probuzení Spáči (Awakened Sleepers) was a part of side program of Václav Jirásek's exhibition in the House of Arts Brno. Project was reacting to one of artist's photography cycles – Sleepers. In the cycle, Jirásek pictures homeless people in Mexico. The homeless, documented subject in the work of Václav Jirásek, became documentarists, story tellers, and artists themself in Brno.
In November 2015, 8 disposable cameras were given to 8 people without shelter and / or in difficult social situation. They were asked to take pictures of things, people or animals, they find interesting or important. 5 cameras were given back.The Exhibition took place in the underground of the Brno Central Railway Station in Januray 2016 and lasted for two weeks. Entrance fee collected from the visitors was divided between the exhibitors. Food and warm tea at the opening was provided by Food not Bombs.
